The Whiskey Bards are a group of friends who have joined together to pursue the bardic arts of times past … and a bit of the new. Our performances include our own arrangements of traditional folk songs, sea shanties, and ballads as well as original compositions in the bardic idiom. Yes – we used idiom in a sentence! With over 20 years working together as a band, we have made a few changes along the way. This year you’ll see a few new faces and hear some new songs. The intimate, cabaret styling and ad hoc humor remains strong at the core of who we are.
We look forward to sharing a song, and perchance a dram, with you at the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival. Slainte va!

The Timeline
2001 - Sim, Tonis, and Daithi decide that a bardic group is a fantastic idea
2003 - Cosimo joins the trio to form a quartet, he is also welcomed into the Order of the White Oak.
2004 - Daithi leaves the Whiskey Bards to focus on home life, Yonatan is asked to join. First album is officially started.
2005 - Tonis and Yonatan are welcomed into the Order of the Laurel. Three albums, ‘Women, Whiskey, and Women’, 'The Recruiter… Free Rum Ain't Free', and ‘Bottoms Up’ are released. Yonatan is welcomed into the Order of the White Oak.
2007 - Sim is welcomed into the Order of the Laurel
2011 - The Knight at the Inn is released
2013 - Rian is welcomed into the Order of the White Oak
2014 - Yonatan gets awarded his Golden Trumpet
2017 - Cosimo is welcomed into the Order of the Laurel
2018 - Grimald is welcomed into the Order of the White Oak. Rian gets awarded his Golden Trumpet.
2019 - Sim gets awarded his Golden Trumpet
2020 - The Known World is struck by plague
2022 - Yonatan leaves the Whiskey Bards to focus on home life. Rian and Grimald are asked to join. Cosimo gets awarded his golden Trumpet.
2024 - Grimald gets awarded their Golden Trumpet
